Many websites that were designed within the past 5 years have a program called Flash that runs animations on their website. Some websites are even fully-flash websites, and are completely animated. While flash is an amazing web feature, and can quite literally have limitless possibilities on design, it does have some drawbacks with today's modern browsers and devices.
Flash is not Search Engine Optimized
While some will argue that there are ways to get around this, flash is not typically Search Engine friendly. Search Engines are unable to 'crawl' a flash-based website because the text and images used are embedded in a program. In fact, most text on a flash-based website is just an image, which a search engine cannot recognize as text.
Flash is not compatible with most mobile devices
This is an unfortunate reality that many web developers have had to face in recent years. Many of the most popular mobile devices (namely the iPhone® and the iPad®) do not play flash, or even give users an option of downloading an app to do so effectively. This means that web developers have had to look for alternatives to website animations and effects.
What if my website has flash?
If your website has flash, we recommend replacing it with other alternatives, or programming your website to show a solid image when flash cannot be played. Transmedia can help replace the flash on your website with an alternative animation source that will boost your SEO and also be compatible on mobile devices. If your website is fully flash-based, we can re-code your site to work best for search engines and mobile devices as well.

If you have flash on your website, let the experts at Transmedia give your website a free evaluation. You may qualify for free flash replacement!
